Practice ACTs

It’s super important to use real practice ACTs produced by the test makers whenever possible, both to get an accurate measure of your current level and to help you improve in the most consistent and efficient way.

How to Use These Tests:

I work through these four tests in the ACT English, Math, Reading, and Science Bootcamps, so you can get more information on how to best use the tests in those courses.

Otherwise, complete the sections separately (timed) or complete an entire ACT in one sitting. Either way, make sure you spend plenty of time reviewing each question to make sure you understand what you did correctly and where you can improve.

Here are five real tests produced by ACT Inc. – you can download them all by clicking the pink button.

Where to Find Additional Practice ACTs

The best resource for ACT practice tests is The Official ACT Prep Guide, 2016-2017 by the makers of the ACT. The “Red Book” contains 3 real practice tests reflecting recent changes to the ACT. Click the picture below to check out this book on Amazon.

There’s also an older version of this book – The Real ACT Prep Guide (3rd Edition) – that contains five full practice tests. Two problems: 1) some of the questions from these tests are used in the New Red Book, and 2) these tests aren’t fully up-to-date with the recent ACT changes. However, if you have the funds, getting this book for additional practice material is a good idea.
